Paul Kim

There is a freedom that comes with creating. I have always been compelled to express my identity through art, not only for leisure but to satisfy a fundamental need, similar to hunger or sleep. Through experimentation with different mediums like sculpture, performance art, video art, painting, I found how far I can push what true freedom meant to me. Through this exploration, I decided to pursue my two greatest passions, music and illustration.

Music is the center of inspiration for my illustrations; there is not a moment in my day where I am not listening to music. My illustrations center around artists that inspire me through their life experiences and how I can relate to them. Whether it be a print of myself sharing a beer with my favorite rappers or my favorite childhood characters, Frog and Toad posing in the latest streetwear, my musical inspirations always manifest themselves onto my work.

With every piece I create, I not only get to show the world the inspiration that music has given me, but I get a chance to become an inspiration for other people.
